Difference between ODS & DWH

What is the difference between ODS (Operational Data Store) and Data Warehouse?

Data Warehouse contains data collected from various sources when systems are offline or not in its peak use time, whereas Operational Data Store is an online and are generally used by real-time reporting module of the application. Generally ODS is used when transaction data is stored in multiple data store you have requirement to bring this data together for real-time reporting purpose.

DWH's are typically "read only, batch updated on a schedule"
ODS's are "maintained in more real time, trickle fed constantly"
